Kitchen and bathroom renovation in Tamworth

This project involved updating both the kitchen and bathroom within the same home, transforming two tired, dated spaces into coordinated, modern rooms. The clients wanted both areas completed at the same time and ready before Christmas, with a clear focus on practicality, durability, and a refined, cohesive finish throughout.

The Before

Before the renovation, both rooms were showing their age and no longer suited the clients’ needs. The bathroom lacked storage and modern functionality, while the kitchen required better layout planning, integrated appliances, and more usable worktop space.

Completing both rooms simultaneously added an extra layer of complexity. The project needed careful sequencing to minimise disruption, keep the household functional, and meet a tight four-week deadline without compromising on quality or finish.

What we did…

  • Kitchen

The kitchen features a Caple Parkhurst Woodgrain vinyl Shaker kitchen in Cashmere, chosen to keep the space light while offering the warmth and texture of a traditional five-piece door. Brushed nickel bow handles add a subtle decorative detail that complements the cabinetry without dominating the design.

A Spectra Worcester Oak laminate worktop with matching upstand was selected for its durability and natural finish, extending into a breakfast bar to create a casual seating and working area. Vogue Bermuda Jade tiles were used as a splashback, adding colour and interest above the worktops.

Integrated Caple appliances were carefully planned into the layout, including a fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, and gas hob, ensuring the kitchen works efficiently while maintaining a clean, uncluttered appearance.

    Bathroom

The bathroom design centred around Ellis Hampshire furniture in Indigo Blue, introducing depth and character while remaining timeless. This was paired with a Blue Venato solid worktop and chrome barrelled knob handles, creating a refined balance between colour and clean-lined detailing.

An Ellis Evoque ceramic basin and Scudo closed-back pan and cistern were selected for their practicality and ease of cleaning, while the Callika Mist Grey porcelain tiles were used on both walls and floors to create a calm, unified backdrop. The look was completed with a Scudo square-edge bath screen, designer chrome towel rail, and an LED mirror with adjustable lighting for everyday flexibility.

  • Kitchen

A bespoke unit was designed to discreetly house the boiler while also accommodating integrated laundry appliances, ensuring the space remained visually tidy and fully functional.

Under-cabinet LED lighting was introduced to improve task lighting and add warmth in the evenings, while Unilin Cottage Oak vinyl plank flooring provides a hard-wearing, cohesive finish underfoot. Every element was installed with careful attention to alignment, spacing, and long-term durability.

    Bathroom

Significant preparation works were required to achieve the finished result. The ceiling was fully overboarded and skimmed, allowing for neatly positioned spotlights and a clean, even finish.

Electrical works were carefully planned to accommodate the LED mirror and an integrated electric toothbrush charging point, keeping surfaces clear and functional. Every fitting was positioned with long-term use in mind, ensuring the bathroom feels practical, durable, and easy to maintain.

  • Central KBB oversaw all aspects of the renovation, coordinating trades and deliveries to ensure both rooms progressed smoothly and in the correct sequence. Completing the kitchen and bathroom together required careful planning to keep the project on track and ready before Christmas.

Clear communication and structured scheduling ensured the four-week programme ran efficiently, with each stage completed to Central KBB’s exacting standards while respecting the client’s home throughout.

  • The finished kitchen and bathroom now feel cohesive, practical, and well considered. Both spaces balance everyday usability with refined design, giving the clients two rooms that work seamlessly together and are ready to be enjoyed immediately.
