Matt black handleless kitchen in Solihull
This project was designed to create a bold, contemporary kitchen that balanced striking aesthetics with everyday functionality. The client wanted a space that felt refined and architectural, while supporting serious cooking, entertaining, and modern family life. Central KBB oversaw all aspects of the design and delivery to achieve a cohesive, highly considered result.
What we did…
-
Central KBB designed a striking handleless kitchen using Kabko cabinetry in matt black, paired with Fenix Supermatt Nero Ingo doors for an ultra-soft, fingerprint-resistant finish. The deep black palette creates a dramatic, architectural look.
Base units feature a handleless Gola profile, while wall units and oven housings use touch-to-open for a clean, uninterrupted finish. Tall units are defined with black knurled handles, adding subtle contrast and tactility. Internally, Blum Onyx black hinges and Blum Legrabox drawers in Orion Grey were specified, including tall Space Tower storage units designed for easy access and everyday practicality.
A bespoke antique glazed mirror was introduced within the bar area, cut to size to suit the layout. This reflective detail softens the darker cabinetry, adds depth, and brings a refined, almost boutique feel to the space.
The kitchen is finished with Calacatta Gold quartz worktops, introducing warmth and movement through natural veining, while the Karndean Dutch Limed Oak herringbone flooring grounds the space and complements the extension.
Appliances were carefully specified to match the kitchen’s bold, contemporary character and high-performance brief. A suite of Siemens appliances includes two statement ovens, twin warming drawers, an induction hob paired with a dedicated griddle and Teppan Yaki, allowing for flexible, restaurant-style cooking. These are complemented by NEFF integrated appliances, including a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, extractor, and wine cooler, all seamlessly built into the cabinetry for a clean, uninterrupted finish.
A Quooker Fusion Square boiling tap in black, paired with the Quooker Cube, provides instant boiling, chilled, filtered and sparkling water and Blanco black undermount sinks and coordinated waste systems sit discreetly beneath the Calacatta Gold quartz worktops, maintaining the kitchen’s refined, uncluttered aesthetic.

This project required close coordination between design and build, particularly as part of a full extension. Central KBB oversaw all aspects of the kitchen works, including plastering and electrics, ensuring the space was properly prepared before installation began.
Precision was essential to achieve the clean handleless detailing, seamless appliance integration, and bespoke mirrored elements. Every junction, alignment, and finish was carefully considered to ensure the kitchen not only looked sharp on day one but would continue to perform flawlessly over time.
-
Working alongside a reputable builder on the extension, Central KBB remained closely involved throughout, overseeing the kitchen works from early design decisions through to final installation. Clear sequencing ensured that electrics, plastering, cabinetry, worktops, and flooring came together smoothly and without compromise.
Regular communication and careful coordination allowed the kitchen to integrate seamlessly into the new extension, with each stage delivered calmly and professionally.

The finished kitchen is bold, refined, and highly functional, a space that feels both luxurious and effortless to use. Matt black cabinetry, warm veined quartz, and textured flooring combine to create a confident modern interior that sits perfectly within the new extension. It is a kitchen designed to be lived in, entertained in, and admired every day.
